Shaylene has always had passion for animals growing up. During high school days she worked at her first veterinary clinic, she also dog walked for a small company for several years but then decided the veterinary industry gave her a more rewarding feeling. Helping and giving care to animals and then seeing their improvement made her happy. 

In 2009 Shaylene received her diploma in Animal Science at CDI College and graduated from the Veterinary Office Assistant program from Douglas College in 2010.  

Shaylene has been a part of the Westview team for over 9 years and enjoys coming to work everyday. She admires the long-term relationships she has with the clients and their pets. She also utilizes her fear free certification while working with the animals in hospital. 

When not at the clinic you can find Shaylene exploring the local mountains or relaxing at the lake. While at home she enjoys cooking, gardening, and acrylic painting.
