Mallory

Education: Animal behavioural college in 2009

Mallory was born and raised with a passion for feral cats, dogs, farm animals, and everything in between. Her first love was horses which soon followed a passion for dogs. She spent her childhood and adulthood working on the farm doing daily chores and learning about animal husbandry and veterinary care.

After graduation she decided dog training was the perfect route for her intuitiveness and love for positive reinforcement training.  Mallory graduated from Animal behavioural college in 2009 where she quickly built relationships with other trainers and behaviourists in the lower mainland.

She found a love for helping our most vulnerable animals and started volunteering for the BCSPCA. Mallory soon started a 10 year career there where she learned so much about animal welfare, positive-force free dog training, enrichment and veterinary care. She has a passion for choice based training and working with excitable and fearful dogs.

She currently has a dog training business where she has a special interest in cooperative care and is currently teaching classes at the North Shore Neighbourhood House. After moving to North Vancouver she decided she wanted to gain more experience in the veterinary field.  At Westview, Mallory is leading our new Cooperative Care appointments to help support animals who might be experiencing anxiety while at the vet.  She is also Fear Free Certified and working toward other certifications to grow her knowledge and skills.

She has already learned so much since joining the team and looks forward to continuing to gain knowledge so she can continue to help pets in her community.
