Dr. Nicola ("Nic") Main grew up in Victoria, BC, in a family-run bed and breakfast. She completed a BSc in Biology at the University of Victoria before moving to Edinburgh, Scotland, where she earned her veterinary degree from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2022.

While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, a university research project about the impact of dietary fiber on the canine microbiome sparked an early interest in gastrointestinal health and its role in overall wellness. Other interests include internal medicine and palliative care. Certified by CAETA, she is dedicated to gentle euthanasia and supporting families through one of life’s hardest goodbyes. Dr. Nic has also spent time working with the federal government in animal disease surveillance and import/export regulations.

Her approach to veterinary care is motivated by collaboration — ensuring treatments are both patient-focused and guided by informed client decisions.

In her free time, you’ll find Dr. Nic cooking, hiking, or biking along the West Coast with her partner, or reading with her tuxedo cat, Bruce.
